From Kiel to the World
The Kiel Week (German: Kieler Woche) or Kiel Regatta is an annual sailing event in Kiel, Germany. The maritime festival, which is nine days long and has more than three million visitors and over 1,500 events, makes the Kiel Week the largest sailing event in the world.
This year it will take place on 18th – 26th June 2016. Around 4,000 sailors with approximately 1,700 boats from more than 50 nations are participating in this year’s regatta. We have summed up the regatta highlights for you:

- J/70 European Championship
- 127 years “Marinekutter” Regatta

During this time, hundreds of traditional sailing ships, steamers and motor boats will be sailing at the Kiel Fjord. The exciting program not only guarantees lots of fun for boaters, but for general public as well. With theatrical performances, art, fireworks, sport events and music there is entertainment for all tastes.The world’s largest sailing event and Europe’s biggest summer festival will guarantee a great time.
